Its been more than 2 years that i left Information and Communication Technology Dept. Govt. of Mizoram where i worked as a Web Content Developer for about a year.
Though I'm always near to my Inbox I hardly surf the net looking for tutorials, scripts, codes, CMS etc..
On the 10th of July I got a call from my friend inquiring me about expenditures required for having a website for their Organization. (All Mizoram Farmers' Association) AMFU.
I told him the prices of domain and webspace and the next word was "Will you do it for us?". "Am busy, you may fine many good web designers/developers in Aizawl who will do the jod, and by the way I'm too much out of touch". He Insisted and I had to say my favourite word "Yes".
I have a friend, a good web designer "Lalremlien". I haven't been in touch with him since the old IRC days. So i dont know if he still comes online as his blog dont update frequently. So I said to myself "why? this is the time to try out WP. Everyone said that its a powerfull tool and that it can be easily customised for Organizational website or for a portal.
So i downloaded the software, surf for some themes, picked few ones ( This was a good contender), i played with it, it was too complicated.. all those loops in WP variables tags etc.. so i mailed my friend Lalremlien asking for help.. also sent him sms about the mail that i have sent him.
"Very ugly theme... start from the scratch" was the reply
This was my next stop. Its a great too. Anyone intrested in developing website using Joomla, WP should have this. picked up few graphics, styles from the templates that came with this software.
And now finally i used This theme Modified it using DW and now here's the final site

The footer file (footer.php) was encrypted (you know those codes like)

I can understand if there are 2 or more websites of the office / org. Take for instance zolife.in It the official website of zolife infotech (its some type there too its actually written Official website ok ZOlife...)... where is the unofficial website or another website related to zolife infotech
I prefer handcoding it if you are to customize the theme than to tweak something, that way we learn things. NOtepad++ with Photoshop and if you are not good at designing, then search for a nice PSD file, then slice it! :P

@Mnowluck : I beleive there are two types of ppl. One who makes from the scrats and the others who modifies them.. I beleive i fit in the 2nd place. :)
Designing is a very difficult thing for me. If i were to write down even just a stylesheet it takes too long. Whereas if i go through a made stylesheet i cn easily visualise how it will look and chege it according to my preference.
With thousands of designers/coders most of the time i find a readymade template/script which works for my purpose. :)
Nevertheless its always good to be original and do it "yourself" as the value is higher
Regarding the cooemnts part, i will fix it as soon as i have tome to go through the code :)

Michael H comment mi khat index(dot)php ah om ang a, chuan, that will disable all the comments option
JarretCade option mi chuan, Comment i accept loh na apiang ah comments are closed tih hi a lo lang dawn leus, but you need to see what's there on your comments(dot)php file or comments-popup (dot) php too if you have it
